I build rods with three different progressive tapers, and one parabolic taper.  Medium dry fly, Medium fast  dry fly, and Medium fast delayed progressive. These tapers (F-1, D-1, H-1, and H-7, respectively) form the foundation of all my tapers. All other tapers listed are empirical modifications of these original designs.

 

Easy casting, mild semi parabolic action for all around use.

These rods feature light tips and a swelled butt. Wonderfully crisp, classic eastern dry fly.

These smooth casting all around rods  are the result of blending the Payne and Garrison taper design. With the light tip action of the Garrison ,  combined with the strength of the Payne midsection, resulting in  a versatile rod with a smooth transfer of power
